Job Requirements
To qualify for this security position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Qualifications: Grade 12 (Senior Certificate) and a Grade C Security Certificate from the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA).
- Experience: Minimum of 12 months of proven security experience.
- Key Knowledge: Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act, evacuation procedures, Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS), PSIRA procedures, Batho Pele Principles, and Public Service Regulations.
- Core Skills: Verbal and written communication, interpersonal relations, problem-solving, listening, computer literacy, planning and organizing, and analytical skills.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
As a Security Officer, your daily responsibilities will include:
- Controlling access in and out of the Labour Centre and Provincial Office.
- Securing the safe flow of information and assets within the premises.
- Conducting routine security patrols to ensure the safety of employees and visitors.
- Performing internal investigations and enforcing departmental security rules and regulations.
