Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen aged 18 to 35 years
- Have a Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
- Hold a completed 3-year Bachelor’s degree, National Diploma, or Honours in:
- Commerce / Accounting
- Information Technology
- Clinical Medical Associate
- BCur in Nursing (Bachelor of Nursing Science)
- Be fluent in English (other South African languages are advantageous)
- Demonstrate professionalism, excellent time management, and solid administrative skills
- Be unemployed and not enrolled in another internship
- Show basic computer literacy and the ability to perform under pressure
Internship Responsibilities
Interns will gain first-hand experience in various business functions:
- Manage and respond to medical aid correspondence
- Assist in claims assessment and member subscriptions
- Support clinical administration, underwriting, and new member application processes
- Engage in both formative and summative assessments
- Represent PPSHA as an ambassador, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction
